Cartis Classic Car sponsor of the King's Vegetable Garden

02 February 2021

Classic Car Experience is a patron of the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage for the restoration of the Potager du Roi as part of the Mon Potager campaign.

The Potager du Roi was built between 1678 and 1683 by Jean-Baptiste La Quintinie, at the request of Louis XIV. Located next to the Château de Versailles and open to the public since 1991, it is the historic site of the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage. Listed as a historical monument and a remarkable garden, its gardeners perpetuate the art of pruning and cultivate a wide variety of fruit and vegetables in a French-style garden. Since its creation, the Potager du Roi has had a three-fold mission: to produce, to experiment and to transmit. Faced with the ageing of the tree heritage, the replanting of trees is carried out with an evolution in cultivation practices and the experimentation of new plant associations. This is done with deep respect for the historic structures, which are being restored in successive stages, as never before in more than 100 years. Cartis Classic Car Expérience, concerned about the maintenance and development of the French cultural and landscape heritage, is committed to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Paysage for the restoration of the King's Kitchen Garden.
